New Publications.
We beg to acknowledge receipt of the following new works, of which further notice will appear, as we find space, time, or inclination : — The Children's Book of The Farm, by Gr. W. Murray, Kaukapakapa (a book that ought to receive attention from the Minister and Boards of Education). He Who Dig&ed a. Pit, by Mr Freeman; Mack Anderson, by Mr Langton. These are two of the shilling series of New Zealand fiction, published by J. Wilkie and Co., Dunedm. We are indebted to Mr Wildman, of Victoria Arcade, Auckland, for copies of these books, as well as No. 2 of Zealandia. Mr Dillon's Mission.— This is a pamphlet addressed to Queenslanders, which will no doubt be eagerly devoured by the ultra-Loyalists, as It criticises adversly Mr Dillon's mission, and reports an " enthusiastic assemblage of Loyalists " at Brisbane. We advise nobody to read it, however, if they wish to keep down " external political discord."
