GAY DOINGS AT WADE.
A very enjoyable dance was given, by the young ladies of the Wade and Orewa districts last Friday. The dance was held in the School-room, ■which was very prettily decorated with, ferns, &c. Some sixtyinvitations were sent out, but owing to the very inclement weather only about, fifteen couples turned up. Dancing coniinenced at 8 o'clock. Owing to the wet the dresses were somewhat plain, and as the floor was muddy throughout the evening, it would be difficult to select the best dancer. The music was supplied by Mr Trevor Lloyd (violin) and Mr Dick Ho well (accordian), to whom great praise is due; the latter being an accomplished player kept splendid timethroughout. A vote of thanks to the ladies, to whom our best thanks are due for giving us this treat, brought to a close one of the most enjoyeble evenings that we have spent for some time in this quiet, but none the less noto rious, Wade.
