ST. JOHN AMBULANCE.
TEAM VISITS AUCKLAND. 4 BENEFICIAL EVENING. The Thames St. John Ambulance team which competed in the competitions at Huntly on Saturday last, with satisfactory results, again represented its division at Auckland last night. The occasion was the competition for trophies donated for furthering interest in first-aid. Seven teams competed, and tho standard of work was very high, evoking praise from the three doctors who acted as judges. The tests consisted of: (1) The treatment of a complicated fracture of the upper femur, with haemorrhage; (2) individual triangular and roller bandaging; (3) rescue and resuscitation of an apparently drowned person, with hemorrhage from the temporal artery. These tests, although of the usual order, proved good experience to the Thames team, which was treated with
great courtesy. At a later date the division is to be invited to take part in further competitive work at Auckland.
Results of points gained by the team are not yet available.
