CITY MILK SUPPLY.
CHRISTCHURCH PROPOSAL. PROVISION FOR REFERENDUM. EARLY CONSIDERA TOON. [By Telegraph.—Press Association]. CHRISTCHURCH, June 24. Early consideration is to be given by tho Christchurch City Council to 'the (completion of the bill for tho provision of a municipal milk supply in and near the city. The council will be asked at its next meeting ro approve of the inclusion in the bill of a. clause providing for tho holding of a pool to deeido whether tho industry is to be controlled by the municipality. This is in accordance with an election promise of tlie Labour Party. The proposal to be placed before tho council is not likely to prove contentious. The previous council agreed that a referendum should be held, and tho Citizens’ Association candidates
.in the election campaign expressed their agreement with this course.
