SWEPT TO DEATH.
THE KOPUAWHARA VICTIMS. CONTINUING INQUEST. WILL PROBABLY BE LENGTHY. CBy Telegraph.—Press Association! WAIRQA, March 25. The continuation of the inquest on those who lost their lives in the Kopuawhara disaster on February Id, when No. 4 railway construction camp was overwhelmed by a Avail of water and 20 men and a young woman were swept to their deaths, will be held in Wairoa on Monday, April 4, by the district coroner, Mr, V. E. Winter.
Sergeant J. Mcintosh, of Hastings, who has been in charge of the inquiries throughout, .will watch proceedings on behalf of the police. It is not known how many witnesses will be called, but it is anticipated the inquiry will be lengthy. It is not known what the procedure will be in the case of the two victims whose bodies are not yet recovered, Mr. Winter stating that in the meantime it is the intention to simply continue the inquests on the victims whose bodies have been recovered.
