GOVERNMENT CRITICISED. HANDLING PUBLIC MONEY. MK. HAMILTON'S REMARKS. [By Telegraph.—Press Associationj HASTINGS, March 25. "The members of the present Gov eminent are not properly equipped foi handling huge sums of public money, said Mr. A. Hamilton, Louder of the Opposition, when addressing National Party supporters at Hastings last night. "Most of them," he said, "were brought up in the school of trade unionism, and this is a wrong atmosphere for future controllers of public money."

Mr. Hamilton referred to the Appropriation Act passed at the end of last session making provision for £54,000,000, an increase of over £20,000,000 on the amount two years ago. "The Federation of Labour is tho power behind the scenes in the present Government and is driving it along," said Mr. Hamilton.
