MILFORD DROWNING
CAPSIZE OF CANOE.
DEATH OF 16-YEAR-OLD BOY. [By Telegraph. —Press Association] AUCKLAND, March 25. An inquest into the death of Trevor Ralph Windsor, aged 16, of 40 Ocean View Road, Takapuna, who was drowned off Milford Beach on March 6, was held before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., coroner, yesterday.
Frank. Victor Snelgar, aged 20, of 12 Hardinge Street, Freeman's Bay, said he and deceased hired a canoe at Milford Beach at 2.15 p.m. The tide was going out and when they were about 200yds from the shore a big wave turned the canoe over, throwing them into the sea. Deceased began to swim ashore, but witness called to him to wait and hold on to the canoe. De-
ceased appeared to be swimming quite well, but he disappeared when about 150yds from file shore. Some other youths in a canoe searched for him, but without success. A verdict was given that deceased was drowned when the canoe he was in capsized.
