COLLISION SEQUEL.
MAGISTRATE CURIOUS. "VERY SERIOUS ASPECT." | WAS THERE A CONSPIRACY? [By Telegraph.—Press Association] j ' WELLINGTON, Feb; 16. "There is a very serious aspect to this case, in that there seems to be a conspiracy between two men to interfere with tho course of justice," said Mr. J. H. Luxford, S.M., in a case before, him to-day. " ' The case arose from" a collision oh January 7 between a car driven by Patrick'.Joseph Boyle, who was charged with negligent driving, and a taxi. ■The evidence was that the taxi* driver stopped Boyle to discuss the matter of damages, and Boyle drove off. Tho collision was reported to the police and Boyle reported it two days later. In the meantime, the owner of the car, John Joseph Sander, a friend of Boyle, reported that the car wa£>stolen, this apparently being to help Boyle out of trouble.
Sander was separately charged with making a false statement. Boyle was'fined £l, with costs, and his driving license was suspended for three months. The case against Sander was adjourned for a week, pending a report by the probation officer and tho appearance of defendant.

I have been a rolling stone in jny time but for some years past I've been living in New Zealand, and have grown so appreciative of the New Zealand tobacco that now I can't smoke anything else. 'Toasted,' as it is familiarly known in the country of its origin, is of exceptionally fine quality. It's manufactured (under ideal conditions) from tho choicest N.Z.-grown leaf, and for flavour and bouquet I don't know its equal. One of its chief merits is that its comparatively harmless. Smoke it as freely as you please and it won't affect you. That's because its toasted, the manufacturers' secret process which does so much to free it of nicotine. The five
(and only genuine) brands arc: Cut Plug No. 10 (Bulkhead 1 ), Caven !ish, Navy Cut No. 3 (Bulldog), Eiverhead Gold and Desert Gold; they're all good."—Ad.
