MAGISTRATE CURIOUS. "VERY SERIOUS ASPECT." | WAS THERE A CONSPIRACY? [By Telegraph.—Press Association] j ' WELLINGTON, Feb; 16. "There is a very serious aspect to this case, in that there seems to be a conspiracy between two men to interfere with tho course of justice," said Mr. J. H. Luxford, S.M., in a case before, him to-day. " ' The case arose from" a collision oh January 7 between a car driven by Patrick'.Joseph Boyle, who was charged with negligent driving, and a taxi. ■The evidence was that the taxi* driver stopped Boyle to discuss the matter of damages, and Boyle drove off. Tho collision was reported to the police and Boyle reported it two days later. In the meantime, the owner of the car, John Joseph Sander, a friend of Boyle, reported that the car wa£>stolen, this apparently being to help Boyle out of trouble.

Sander was separately charged with making a false statement. Boyle was'fined £l, with costs, and his driving license was suspended for three months. The case against Sander was adjourned for a week, pending a report by the probation officer and tho appearance of defendant.
