BABY DROWNED.

FELL INTO RIVER. BODY FOUND FLOATING. TRAGEDY NEAR TE PUKE. ißy Tejegrapn.—Press Associationj TE PUKE, Dec. 23. The 13-inonths-old son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Paul, of Farara, was drownco in the Kaituna River at To Puke. The family were camped on the bank of the river and the inhint was playing with his brothers and sisters while the mother was attending a sick child. Missing the infant about 1 o'clock, the mother commenced a search for him. In the meantime a launch was coming up the river from the flaxmill, and the launchman, Mr. Teto Wharc, saw a body floating. He turned backto the mill and notified the manager, who went back and found the body floating - about three miles below the camp of the family.
