♦_ OUTSIDE NORMAL EMPLOYMENT. BOROUGH COUNCIL MOVE. Varying views concerning the right of workers to accept payment for work done outside their normal employment were expressed by members of the New Plymouth Borough Council. Eventually it was decided to suspend a resolution prohibiting any permanent employee of the council from engaging in outside work for pecuniary gain pending a conference between the council and representatives of the various unions covering the employees of the borough*
