SPLENDID LIGHTING.

*. THAMES BUSINESS AREA. BEST IN THE PROVINCE. The erection of the balance of lamps 'n the Borough's new street light ing system in Pollen Street has given Thames one of the finest illuminated business areas in the pro vine*, and, for that matter, in the Dominion. A Thames man who recently was touring in the South stated he saw nothing during his travels to compare with •veil-lighted Pollen Street. To gain the most effective view at

night, residents who have hot already done so shouTd view Pollen Street from the middle of the street opposite the llauraki factory. From this point the

observer looks down a long lane of light, which at the present time is made all the more effective by the festoons of coloured lamps spanning the street at intervals.
