Thames Rugby Reps. The Waikato Maori Rugby representatives to play the Tokerau (North Auckland) Maoris, the holders of the Coronation Shield, include "W. Savage and C. Abraham, and as emergencies M. The Thames Beautifying Society has received a letter from the Thames South iSchool enclosing 16/- as a donation from the staff, and asking for suggestions for improving and beautifying the school grounds. An offer was also made to send a delegate to the riext meeting of the Society. Sale of Work. To-morrow, at 2.30 p.m., Mrs. J. Thorn wjll .officially open the sale of work w.hteh is t# take place in the School pall, Willoughby Street, under the auspices of the Baptist Ladies' Guild. The l '® Will be plain, fancy work, produce, .cake, sweets, vegetable and flower stajls, etc. A good attendance ,of the public is expected. Thames Cargo on Wingatui. It was staged in Thames last evening that among the cargo on the Wingatui, pn which a fire occurred in No. 3 hold, was a quantity of Dunedin beer for the Brian Boru IJotel. Reports from the sfeamer to-day state that very little damage was done to the cargo, Real Enthusiasts, To stai-t work at *5 o'clock these mornings takes some enthusiasm, but this is being demonstrated by . a working bee from the Beautifying Society, which meets at that hour and puts in some hard work at Jellicoe Crescent, grassing both sides of the roadway. Thames Town Hall. A prominent citizen of Thames, who

takes a keen interest in th* progress

of the town, suggests that townspeople should seriously consider a proposal to erect a town hall, with

municipal chambers, etc., Included in the building. At the present time, though the town possesses a number of halls, none of them are of sufficient size for the more important functions which are constantly coming forward. A Town Hall of large size would be a revenue-producer in that the hall

would 5e rented at frequent intervals. Also, such, a building woujld be in keeping with the growing importance and civic dignity of Thames.
