THE ICING’S
A modern detective story is tho theme of “Thunder of the Night,” screening at the King’s Theatre tonight. Edmund Lowe, Karen Morley and Paul Cavanagh are the leading players, and are surrounded throughout the film with an air of mystery. The whirlwind action of the film covers a brief six hours in the life of a Budapest detective. Lowe is seen as the super-sleuth who ingeniously and dramatically reveals a murderer and finds happiness for himself. “Without Regret,” with Elissa
Landi and Paul Cavanagh, unfolds the story of a daring murder in London’s Mayfair, and will be screened at the King’s to-morrow evening. The second feature film, “The Unfinished Symphony,” offers unusual entertainment and is based on extracts from the life «f Franz Schubert. Hans Jarav and Marta Eggerth are the featured players. THE REGENT.
At the Regent, “Redheads on Parade,” with John Boles and Dixie Lee, is the main attraction, the story of which revolves about a fantastic movie producer and his imaginative Press agent, who launch a novel campaign to popularise their spectacular production. There are a series of amusing sequences and plenty of gay tunes and glamorous settings.
“Manhattan Moon,” featuring Ricardo Cortez and Dorothy Page, is the story of a Broadway millionaire who, without social standing, attempts to “crash” inio the upper circle. Comedy and music are predominant features of this colourful romance.
“Shadow of Doubt,” the story of which is laid in New York and deals with society, theatrical and night club life, showing at the Regent tomorrow night, revolves about 1h( solving of a detective mystery in a new and astounding manner. Rieardr Cortez and Virginia Bruce have tin leading roles.
