NO DRINK PROBLEM. POLL NOT NECESSARY. VIEW OF LICENSE TRADE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 28. Mr. Percy Coyle, general secretary of the National Council of the License Trade, interviewed, said the licensing vote was a clear indication of the feeling of the people. “NeAV Zealand has not got a drink problem,” he declared. “Statistics have shown year by year that the NeAV Zealander is a temperate person, and that there is no need to shackle him Avith such repressive restrictions that prohibition entails. “At successive polls the electors have shoAvn an ever-increasing sentiment against prohibition, and yesterday’s huge majority must surely be taken as an indication that the continuance of these polls is neither necessary nor desirable.”
