THAMES AMATEUR CLUB. OPEN MEETING APPLIED FOR. A meeting of the committee of the Thames Amateur Athletic Club was held last evening, Mr. W. D. Bennett, president, presiding. A large amount of correspondence Avith the sub-centre at Hamilton in reference to recent and forthcoming sports gatherings was received and dealt with.

I It was decided to apply to the sub-centre committee for permission to hold an open sports meeting at Thames on April G, arrangements for same being left in the hands of a special committee. The club championship events will be run on Thursday, March 21 and 28. Mr. R. Mclnarney was appointed manager of the team competing at the Auckland provincial championships on Saturday, in which nine runners from Thames will take part. The committee noted with pleasure the success of the local runness at the recent Rotorua meeting and also at the Auckland centre meeting.
