Thames Borough Rates. The last discount day for the monthly instalment of borough rates is Saturday next, December 1 * Hikutaia-Paeroa Bitumenising. Good progress 'hag been made with the bitumenising of th e HikutaiaPaeroa highway, and it is probable that this section will be completed this week. Final Community Sing. The Thames Unemployed Association’s final community sing, held in the Miners’ Union Hall last evening, was well attended. The items, all of which were contributed by juveniles, met with merited appreciation. Mr. A. Mcllvride was song leader. Meeting Lapsed. As the outcome of a meeting of creditors of Arthur Edward Costello, of Tapu, held on October 2, a further meeting was. called at the Thames Courthouse tfhis morning. Owing to there not being a quorum present the meeting lapsed.
