Amateur Swimming.
HIGH SCHOOL EX-PUPILS' CLUB. THE ANNUAL MEETING. LADIES* 50YDS. CHAMPIONSHIP. The annual meeting of the Thames High School Old Pupils' Amateur Swimming Club was held last night, a large gathering of members being presided over by Mr. G. S. Buchan.
The report and balance-sheet showed the club to be in a favourable position. Officers elected for the ensuinyear were: —
President, Mr. G. S. Buchan; ladies' club captain, Miss S. Stirling; men's, Mr. R. Court; secretary, Mr. A. R. Johnston; treasurer, Mr. N. Moran; executive, Miss F. Willetts, Messrs. J. Edwards, G. Allen, L. White; auditor, Miss M. Horrox.
It was decided to affiliate with the South Auckland Centre, the head centre, the Royal Life-Saving Society, and the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association. Matters relating to carnivals and improvements to the baths will bo dealt with at the executive meeting
At the annual meeting of tho South Auckland Centre, held in Cambridge last week, Thames was allocated the 50yds. ladies' championship. In future, clubs will be charged a license fee of 5/- per carnival held by them. The fee will be in aid of the Centre funds.
Where clubs fail to fulfill the Centre's rules regarding carnivals, a fine of 10/6 is to be made for each offence.-
This year there will be no Centre carnival.
