SPLENDID FLOWER DISPLAY. RESULTS OF COMPETITIONS. The ladies of the Ngatea Presbyterian and Methodist Churches held a combined flower show and bazaar in the Ngatea Hall on Thursday. Opening speeches were made by Mr. Currie and Mr. Hindmarsh, and also Mr. F. J. Causley, of Thames, who judged the entries for. the flower show. Mr. Causley stated that it was one of the best collection of flowers he had ever seen, the roses particularly being of very high standard. The Stall-Holders. The stall-holders were: —Tea, Mesdames A. in the evening a short musical programme was arranged by Mrs. Wilkins and Miss Paul, and numerous competitions by Mr. Schultz. Miss Dudding played a pianoforte solo and Mr. Black a saxophone solo, and a short play, "The Imaginary Aunt," was acted by Mesdames Jackson and Schalz and Misses Birkenhead and Paul. Competition Winners. The winners of the competitions were: — Chain-stepping—Mr. Dick Motion. Pishing.—Mr. B. Trevelyan. Blowing Out Candles.—Mrs. Motion and Mr. J. Wilkins. The guessing competition winners were: — Box of Sweets, Mr. P. Brown. Model Aeroplane—Mr. P. Brown. Decorated Cake.—Mr. M. Costello. After the prizes had been awarded Mr. Hindmarsh stated that t\v takings had amounted to a little over £4O and the expenses would be about £lO.
