REFORM CAMPAIGN.
IN AUCKLAND SUBURBS. At General Election. CANDIDATES NOMINATED. INCLUDING MISS MELVILLE. ,By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) AUCKLAND, July 18 Steps are being taken by the Refrom Party to select a candidate to contest the Auckland Suburbs seat at the general election against Mr H. G. R. MasoH, the Labour candidate. The nominations received are Mr R. H. Marrayat, farmer, of Oratai, president of the Reform executive in Auckland Suburbs and who had a •distinguished war record; Mr W. A. Bishop, of Titirangi, chairman of the Waitemata County Council; and Mr T. A. Bishop, also of Titirangi. It is understood that Mr Marshall Laing will also be nominated. A deputation of influential women from Auckland East waited upon Miss Ellen Melville yesterday afternoon, and presented a largely-sign-ed petition asking her to stand for Parliament in the interests of women. Miss Melville asked for a week to consider the matt.r.
