AUCKLAND, July 17 Charges of permitting a vehicle to operate at a greater speed than 24 miles per hour at Ramarama, also at Pokeno, and failing to supply information, were admitted by White and Sons and Corbelt, in the Papakura Police Court before Mr F. H. Levien, S.M. Mr Mackay maintained that a speed of 24 miles an hour was ridiculously low, and pointed out that the new draft of regulations permitted 30 miles per hour on a metal road and 35 on a concrete road.
Mr Barrett, highways inspector, said they were only draft regulations and objection would be lodged. A fine of 30/- with costs 10/was imposed on the first charge, on the second 20/- and costs £l/4/-, and on the third 10/- and costs 10/-.
