TOURNAMENT AT REMUERA. COUNTRY COMPETITIONS. WINS FOR NORTHERN TEAMS. Country hockey players commenced their tournament at Remuera on Monday in heavy rain on muddy grounds. In the White Horse competition Wlumgarei scored an easy victory over Franklin and Rodney had a comfortable win ayainst Waipa. The tournament was continued yesterday, and the winner of the White Horse Cup should be known after to-day games. In the women's section there is a larger entry of teams and the competitions will continue until Friday. The results in the women's matches for the Auckland Provincial Cup were: — A Section. —Waikato 3, beat Piako 0; Collegiate 2 beat Thames 1 (Miss Candy). 13 Section. —Paeroa 6, beat Northern Wairoa 0; King Country 3, beat Auckland B 1. C Section. —Auckland C 4, beat Franklin A 1; Rodney 4, beat Whangarei A 3. D Section. —Auckland A 9, beat Whangarei B 0; Kercpechi 13 (Misses Courtney 6, Bertelsen 5, I Fisher 2), beat Franklin 0.
