UNEMPLOYED WOMEN.

DEPUTATION TO PREMIER. FROM NATIONAL COUNCIL. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, July 14 On behalf of the women of New Zealand, the Parliamentary Watch Committee of the National Council of Women, have offered the members of the Government the fullest possible assistance in its endeavour to solve the problem of unemployment among women. The deputation at its meeting with the Prime Minister, the Hon. G. W. Forbes, and the Hons. A. J. Stalhvorthy and S. G. Smith, also suggested that a woman should be appointed to the Unemployment Board. Mr Forbes thanked the deputation for its oiler, and said that the Government realised the assistance of women’s organisations, and it would be necessary now that women were included under the unemployment legislation. Up to the present no definite policy had been formulated but he was satisfied that he could arrive at some definite plan.
