MASONIC.

LODGE OF LIGHT. ANNUAL INSTALLATION. Members of the Masonic fraternity from Auckland and all parts of the province assembled in large numbers at the Masonic Hall, Queen Street, last evening to attend the annual installation meeting of the Lodge of Light, when Bro. Arthur Williams was installed as Master for the ensuing year, the ceremonybeing a very impressive one. An enthusiastic and cordial reception was accorded to R. Wor. Bro. C. J. Schnauer, Provincial Grand Master, Irish Constitution, R. Wor. Bro. M. J. Bennett, District Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Scotland, and R. Wor. Bro. C. H. Jenings, Deputy-District Grand Mas'ter of the Grand Lodge of Englnad. The installing master was Wor. Bro. H. L. Driver, assisted by Wor. Bros. G. H. Vowles (Paeroa), W. Moore (Cambridge), while other important portions of the ceremony were undertaken by Wor. Bros. E. Hardman (Lodge Sir Walter Scott), A. J. Holman (Corinthian Lodge), and A.M. Spencer (Ara Lodge), with Wor. Bro. W. B. McDonald as Director of Ceremonies.

The ceremony was very largely musical, an efficient orchestra, under the able conductorship of Wor. Bro. T. J. Buchan, making the ceremon; very enjoyable. Most impressive addresses were given by the Provincial Grand .Master, R. Wor. Bro. M. J., Bennett, and R. Wor. Bro. C. H. Jenkins. During the evening R, Wor. B. ■• C. J. Schnauer presented Wor. Bro. H. L. Driver with a handsome jewel. ■a gift from the brethren for services rendered, Wor. Bro. Driver returning his sincere thanks to the brethren for such a beautrul present. After the ceremony an enjoyable hour of harmony was spent at the Miners' Union Hall in song and instrumental'numbers, a feature of the programme being the excellent items rendered by the orchestra. Before the evening concluded a special vote of thanks was accorded the ladies who had provided and arranged such an enjoyable supper. The singing of "Auld Lang Syne" and the National Anthem brought a very successful evening to a close. The following officers were invested by the Wor. Master: — W.M., Bro. A. Willimas; 1.P.M.. Wor.
