TO-MORROW'S GAMES.

SPORTS IN THAMES.

Two Rep. Hockey Matches.

TWO BASKETBALL REPS. ALSO.

RUGBY CLUB FINALS. Again there is no dearth of sport for followers in Thames on Saturday. In the Rugby world there will be a most interesting match at Rhodes Park, where C. 0.8. and P.T. will contest what is likely to prove the deciding match for the Stewart Memorial and the championship,'and the final of the third-grade will be played. The City team, -v|hich has a bye, is off to Coromandel as a Thames B team to play a challenge for the White Cup, in which they have to give Coromandel II points in. Last year the Thames B team made a draw of "the game, just getting the 11 points, but failing to improve on that. 0

Gage-Brown Trophy.

For the hockey enthusiasts there is a real feast of play at the ;two High School grounds. -In the first place, there is the visit of the Mt. Eden Club, whose senior team will try conclusions with the.Tham.esHauraki reps.; this match is set down at 1.45, so that both teams can see the second game, which is for the Gage-Brown trophy. The trophy was presented last year by Mr W. Gage-Brown, formerly of Thames, as a perpetual challenge between the Mt. Eden juniors and the Thames-Hauraki players under 20 years of age. Last year Mt. Eden won the trophy, but the local team is anxious to turn the tables this time.

. The other game will be between the Wanderers' junior team and the High School, and will be played on the small ground at 3 a.m.

Basketball Rep. Games.

In basketball circles there are two rep. matches against Waihi, the first time that that team has paid a visit to Thames since the Association was formed here. The Waihi teams are said to be fairly strong, and are sure to extend the locals.

An excellent idea is in vogue in the Association in the choosing of its B rep. team. This team is selected from the country players in the Association, and the encouragement thus given goes far to increase the enthusiasm for basketball in the adjacent districts.

Combined Sports Dance.

As there will be no less than four rep. teams staying in Thames for the evening, as well as a number of visiting players, the various sports bodies concerned have resolved to combine forces and run a dance in the Miners' Union Hall on Saturday evening. There will be basiketball girls from Waihi, Plains and Goromandel, hockey players from Auckland, Plains, and other districts, and Rugby players from all over. It should be a really good turn-out. The three sports bodies, Thames Rugby Union, Thames-Hauraki Hockey Association, and Thames-Hau-raki Basketball Association, will be in charge of the arrangements. Teams are:— HOCKEY.* SENIOR REP.
