TIRED OF HUSBAND.
SO LIVED WITH FRIEND. LOCAL DIVORCE €ASE. (Special to Star.) AUCKLAND, Aug. 22. "My wife told me that she had no further use for me and that she preferred the co-respondent," declared Alfred Edward Evans, who petitioned in the divorce court yesterday for dissolution of his marital bonds with Gladys Evans, on the ground of her adultery. William Grey was cited as co-respon-dent.
The petitioner, a labourer, of Pae-r roa, said that the marriage took place at Thames in April, 1921. There were no children of the union. His wife confessed to committing adultery. A Maori woman living at Turns stated that the co-respondent was working for her, and' Mrs Evans was. staying at witness' home while her husband was absent at CoromandeL On one occasion witness had seen Grey and Mrs Evans in bed together. She could not say whether Grey was aAvare that Mrs Evans was married, although he had known her for some time.
A decree nisi was granted, costs being allowed against the co-respon-dent.
