' ,;[ (By Telegraph—Press Association.) ; NELSON, Aug. 19. | ' Experiments ■ carried out by the .;: Cawthron Institute while emphasising the great improvement in the ..', yield of pasture affected by the application 'of ammonium sulphate, ; M showed that the lime content of the -m pasture gra,ss was materially decreased by its use. The Institute states that in those cases where a . naturally low supply of lime occur- , g red in the soil the use of ammonium ■■."'* sulphate through lowering the lime content of the pasture grass might react favourably on the health of the stock. The result of the esperi- | ment emphasised the great importance of maintaining the lime status of the soil.
