BASKETBALL.
ASSOCIATION MEETING. FIXTURES FOR FUTURE. A meeting of the executive bf the Thames-Hauraki Basketball Association was held last evening, Mr Crawford-Watson presiding over delegates from, Coromandel, Turua, Tuis and College Old Girls. After some discussion, it wag decided to accept an offer f from i the Waratah Club in Auckland to send down a team during August, and to instruct the Association's delegate, Miss Mann, to offer them any Saturday in August as the date.
In connection with the Association's annual home - and - home matches with Auckland, the secretary was instructed to notify the Auckland Basketball Association that Thames-Hauraki wished to invite a team to Thames on July 19 as the Thames match of the series, and that the matter of securing: a suitable team had been left to the Auckland delegate. The question of a match in Auckland on July 12 was referred to the Emergency Committee, with power to act. • Coromandel notified that were prepared to make three visits to Thames during the season for the nurpose of playing off their matches in the cup competitions, and this was regarded with satisfaction by the members.
It was decided to call a meeting of head teachers in dealing with the running of a primary schools competition. :|
