THAMES MARKET REPORT.
The Thames Auction Mart reports: Poultry was again in small supply, at last Saturday's market. Fruit was scarce, though a nice line ot Poor Man' oranges was forward for which there- was no demand. Vegetables ,were slightly cheaper it© a moderate enquiry. Prime local maize sold at 6s per, bushel. .Quotations:—
Poultry.—Hens, 2/6 to 3s; pullets, 5s to 5/6; cockerels, 3s; cockerel chicks. 1/8 each; drakes, 2/6 each. Fruit.—Dessert and cooking apples, 2/6 to 4s per half bushel case; Pooi Man oranges, 5s per half bushel .case. Vegetables.—Onions, 3/6; kumeras, 3/9; swedes, 2/6 per bag; pumpkins, 4d to Is; marrows, 3d to 9d; pie melons, Is to 2 S each; cabbage, 2d to 6d; cauliflowers, 3d to lOd each; rhubarb. 3d to 4d; leeks, 4d to 6d; celery, 9d to Is; spring onions, 4d to 6d a bundle; carrots, parsnips, turnips and beet, lOd to 1/4 per dozen bunches. N Hen eggs, 2/8; duck eggs, 2/3 to 2/6 per dozen; honey, 1/2 per lb; 5/b per 101 b tin; farmer's butter, 1/3 to 1/4; maize, 6s to 6 6 per bushel. A moderae catalogue of furniture tand general sundries met fair competition from a rather 'smaller at* tendance of buyers.
On Friday at the Waihi Mart we sold' at auction p. farm property at "Whangamata in the estate of I>. Watson (deceased) . and after keen competition it was knocked down to Mr M. W. Bond, of Auckland.
