TOWNSHIP ISOLATED.
ALL ROADS BLOCKED.
POSITION ON EAST COAST.
(From Our Correspondent). „ TAIRUA, June 27.
According.to ajl that can be ascertained, the settlers of Whangamata are entirely cut off from Waihi, as the new road is impassable. The last storm brought down a great deal of flooding, which washed out several miles of roads. There has also been flooding between Whangamata and Hikuai, and the clay roads are impassable for motor traffic. At the , v present time the only means of access to Whangamata is via the Wires Track .from Maratoto, and that is not in the best of condition.
The Whangamata Settlers' Association is approaching the various local bodies and the Government for relief. • .
