SENT TO ASSIST ZINGARA. (By Telegraph—Press Association.' HOKITIKA, Jan. 17. Yestei’day the Grey harbour tug Westland was brought, down to assist in hauling the stranded Zingara off the beach.' Th e tug entered the river but grounded on a sand-bank, and so far has not been refloated. It is hoped to refloat her this afternoon undamaged. The position of the Zingara has not Improved, she being washed further on the beach close to the wooden protective works. There is some damage to the rudder post and propeller. Mr McLean, chairman - of the Grey Harbour Board, states the tug stranded at Hokitika was shifted 60ft. dur-

ing th e night, and it is hoped to refloat her at 3 p.m. to-day. The vessel is reported to be undamaged. Mr McLean thinks there is small change of salvaging the Zingara.
