HAMILTON STOCK SALE. The farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Co., Ltd. report:— At Frankton on Tuesday, January 15, we. had a fair entry of fat cattle, and prices were again firm, values being in advance of last week. We had a small entry of fat sheep, with prices on a par with the previous sales. A full yarding of store sheep met with strong competition, the whole of the entry changing hands under the hammer. There was a heavy yarding of fat and store pigs, with prices on the improve. We quote:— Beef.—Prime medium weight steers, £l4/8/-; light prime steers, £l2/7/6; prime heavy fat cows, £lO/15/- to £11; fat cows,. £9/7/6 to £9/19/-; light and unfinished, £6/15/- to £7/8/-; vealers, £2712/- to £3/2/-. Sheep.—Fat wethers, 32-/; light fat wethers, 28/6; prime fat lambs, 30/-; a line of 146 woolly ewe lambs, 25/10; 246 well-grown shorn ewe lambs, 22/-; 173 big woolly wethers lambs, 24/1; 220 shorn wether lambs, 20/2 to 20/10; 206 wel-grown mixed sex 50 mixed sex woolly lambs, 17/5 to 18/4; good rape lambs, 22/- to 24/6; cull shorn lambs, 14/2 to 14/6; small woolly lambs, 15/1; 377 big frame 4-tootli to 4-year breeding ewes on account of Mr. Gerald Bull realised 31/3; 101 5-year ewes from the .game vendor; 27/3.
