WOMEN’S NATIONAL RESERVE.
THAMES BRANCH
The monthly meeting of the Women’s National Reserve was held in St. George’s Parish Hal] on Friday, October o. The members present were Mrs. E. F. Adams (president) in'the chair, Mesdames Miller, Newman, McLaren. Gemming, Adamson, Court, Jonassen, Paterson. Cordes, G. Smith. Ritchie. F. Havward, Rocklev. Miss Watt and Mrs. 1 .ong (lion, secretary and treasurer). Apologies were received from Mesdames Watson. Thorburn, Grubb, Scanlon, and Miss Reid. A letter from gVIr. Claxton was read acknowledging receipt of £lO as a donation towards the permanent lighting of the Peace Memorial.
The final arrangements were made for the social afternoon, combined with stalls, to be held on Thursday afternoon, October 18. The president stressed the need of co-operation among the members to ensure a satisfactory monetary reward, and hoped for a generous response from the public.
The Society hopes to further pro> vide comforts for the aged and the sick during the next year.
