SEVERE WESTERLY.
OIL TANKER DAMAGED,
PLATES CRUSHED IN;
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Sept. 26.
During the severe storm raging during the last day or two, the oilcarrying vessel, Paua, sustained damage while discharging at the Newton King wharf.
The plates on the starboard side were dented and sprung, and the piles of the wharf also suffered. Her discharge completed, the vessel is waiting'for the weather to moderate before leaving for Wellington. The westerly storm is the severest for a long time, and very heavy seas are still running outside.
