THE TRANSTASMAN FLIGHT.
Much has been written regarding
the air conquest of the Tasman during the last few weeks. The majority of the public will recognise that the flight should be encouraged in the interests of our air development, but few will approve of the suggestion that the venture should develop into a “stunt” flight, innvoicing unneces-ary risks. A message states that the Southern Cross flyers have been challenged hv two Australian airmen to an air race across the Tasman, a condition i ll g that neither navigators nor radio operators be carried by either craft. The proposed is too foolish to warrant serious consideration. There is no .justification for the rejection of those factors which make for a maximum of safety in a hazardous undertaking.
