Mr. J. Schmidt, of Turua, lias returned from a visit to Taranaki, during which he visited the Dawson Falls Mountain House on Mt. Egmont. At this morning’s sitting o fthe S.M. Court ATr. Bryan, on behalf of the Bar. tendered a welcome to the new magistrate, Mr. Patterson, trusting that his stay in Thames would be a pleasant one, and that the previous cordial relations which had existed between Bench and Bar would be maintained. Mr. Paterson tendered his thanks for the wishes, which, be said, he reciprocated.
