RAILWAY TRAFFIC.
EFFECT OF COMPETITION. The competition of motor and steamer services is having a marked effect on holiday railway passenger traffic. During the 1926-27 Christmas and New Year holiday season.from 11 to 13 carriages were required to accommodate travellers by the Thames-Frank-ton train. k
During the past two weeks,, however, trains of from six to eight carriages have more than met the demand for those using the railway route to Auckland.
