THE RIDE ON RAPIER
For sitting on the back of Rapier for less than three minutes and a half in the Auckland Cup on Monday, T. Green earned a fee of £B4. This works out at £24 a minute, but this was beaten by K. Gill, whose ride on Awarere, less than a minute and a quarter brought him in £4O, or near enough to £32 a minute. The winning jockeys and their fees at Ellerslie were : £ s. d. H.
