ART UNION SALES. A £lO FINE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 4 Charles William Matheson was tofmed £lO for counselling an agent in the commission of an offence, namely the selling of art union tickets after the closing of their sale. The defence was that he instructed the agent to continue selling, believing that an extension would be granted. This, it was contended, had been a custom with previous art unions. Mr Page, S.M., declined to regard the case as one ,for a nominal penalty.
