“CUT IN SALARIES.”

LEGISLATORS INCLUDED. MOVE FOR REINSTATEMENT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 4. In common with Public Service employees, members of both branches of the Legislature suffered a reduction in salary on the operation of the Public Service Expenditure Adjustment Act. In the case of the House of Representatives the salary, formerly £SOO, dropped to £450, and there has been an organised move among members to induce the Government to reinstate the lost £SO. Probably the proposal will he coupled with a suggestion that some portion of the £SO be applied to a pension fund for ex-members of long service.
