SEPARATISTS EXPELLED. FIERCE FIGHTING. (Reuter) BERLIN, October 24. The riots in Hamburg are f?ie most serious since 1908. Communists incited the populace who erected baaricades in Ithe suburbs. 1 Fierce fighting continues and the casualties are serious. All works and harbour traffic are at a standstill. The railway between Hamburg and Lubeck was torn up to prevent the Reichwer reaching Hamburg buft this was repaired almost immediately The centre of the city is quiet, and is patrolled by the police. Separatists were expelled from Aix !a Chapelle by the trade unionists after a severe handling and fill© flag of the Reinish’Republic was hauled down and burned in the street, the people’ singing patriotic songs. The Belgians remained neutral. A crowd stormed the Town Hall in ?\ tunchen gl a dba ck and expelled trie Separatists who also had .taken refuge in a restaurant and were firing on the cowd and wounding several; thereupon the police disarmed the Separatists who then disappeared. The Belgians Tiere were also neutral. Cologne reports the British Zone is quiet and unaffected by the Separatist movement. FRESH OUTBREAKS. (A. & N.Z. Cable.) BERLIN, Oct. 24. It is ascertained that up to the present 7 police were killed and 19 wounded in Hamburg. The rioters suffered severely; the police removed 14 dead and 193 wounded. Fighting broke out afresh in the Barmbeg suburb of Hamburg, and in Dehnheide, Communists firing from the roof tops. The police took vigorus counter action and now have complete control of the situation. MONEY FROM ENGLAND, (Press Association.) BERLIN, October 23. It is reported that Schroeder’s Bank in London is granting a credit of several millions sterling at five per cent to the German industrials for the purchase of coal during the next six months on a guarantee from the Dresdner Bank, Bleichmann Bank and certain industrial groups. POLICE STATION ATTACKED. MOVEMENT AGAINST SEPARATION. (Sun Cablet) BERLIN, October 23. Communists carried out concentrated attacks on all police stations in Hamburg. They stormed and occupied all except three which are still holding out. The municipality is feeding starving workers. It is reported that the police expelled the separatists and regained full control of Aix la Chapelle and Minchengiadback after some fighting. The reaction against separation is reto be spreading.
