OLD BOYS' ASSOCIATION.

MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the council of the Thames Old Boys' Association was held on Monday evening. Present : —Messrs J. E. Hardman (president), in the chair, F. H. Claxton (vice president), W. B. McDonald (secretary) and A. Bateman, L. Griffin, R. Hill, J. Donnelly, W. Hosking, G. Morrison, T. MullinSj and D. Redwood. Apologies for unavoidable absence were received from Messrs W. Danby, R. Muir, A. J. Bateman, S. Dahb and F. McCullough. The Benevolent Fund was'' discussed and it was resolved to ask. Mr F. H. Claxton to report at the February meeting on the best method of placing the fund to the best advantage. The matter of procuring a room will be discussed at the next meeting in February. The president will represent the association at the Fire Brigade social. In reply to a letter conveying the association's good wishes to the Hon. Arthur M. Myers on his leaving for England, Mr Myers wrote: "I .can assure you I shall always be keenly interested in the Thames and will carry with me from New Zealand very happy memories of the town in which I spent by childhood." It was decided that the January meeting should be dispensed with and the next meeting of the council held in February. ' - A large number of new members were elected.' The president and council exchanged the season's greetings and the meeting terminated.
