In. discussing the question of bridges, the chairman of the Thames County Council stated yesterday that, the bridges were in a very bad state. Of the seventeen bridges in the Hastings riding, there was only one in good ’ condition. The Waikawau .Bridge was practically on the verge x)f collapse, and the Mata Bridge was very bad, while others were al9<* in a ;bad condition. ,'. / y v
