V (Own Carreispandemifc.) Thursday night was tEe night of nights as far' as social life of Ngatea was concerned, as the /most suc.^etasful amd "enjoyable dance ever held in the hall eventuated. The Ladies' Oo'mmiit'tee, ably assisted by the young; men of the district, spared' neither time noir ; effort in making the dance the giucciess iti undoubtedly was. The hall was tastefully, decorated! with foliage .amd bunting generously lent for the occasion by: the Thames Borough Council. The lighting 1 of the hall wias splendid, and thanks are due to Mr. Banlks for liis 1 generosity in presenting 1 a, strong lamp to the ihall. Silcocks^ orchestra played lovely music, and with the floor in, good trim one could 1 not! refrain from tripping the light * fantastic. The attendbince was (unusually large so much so that tihe object, tihati of erecting a peace memorial in the school grouinds, -will be greatly benefited. The supper Tvas all that couTd be desired. Afte^ supper the prizes "were awarded to- thei Tvinners: Misses Arden and Ross, and Messrs. Birkenhead and R. Shaw, Jjnr.
