SYDNEY, August 15. News- from the New Hebrides gives details of the attack on the punitive expedition froni the French warship Neurthe, which was sent to arrest the murderers of Mallicollo. After a,n, arduous journey inland the force surprised the natives. While they were arresting several" men, a shot was fired from a hut, killing Gunner Moal. The expedition then opened fire, and the natives were, routed. Four fell on the way to the coast. Afterwards the ntaives shadowed the force, " firing from the bush, and wounded- Gunner Mouleo.
