Father Hays' Mission.
The forthcoming visit to Thames "of the Very Rev. Father. -Hays, .the apostle of Temperance, is arousing considerable interest amongst all classes of the community. Father Haye was born, in 1865. He wasi at first destined for the legal profession, but after witnessing the misery of the masses and the terrible sufferings of the children in) the slums, he determined to devote himself to the service of the poor and the fallen. His labors were not confined to Roman Catholics, and he knew no distinction] of creed. "For Ood and for humanity" is his motto, and his remarkable career throughout the world proves how he has'acted up to it. His succless in New Zealand [bias been phenomenal and Thames awaits his arrival with keen enthusiasm. Over 30,000 persons have already . taken his pledge in. New Zealand.
