SUGGESTIONS.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —Now that there is so much talk about Prohibition, I would like to suggest a, thought or two. I am, not altogether in. fa.vor of it, thinking there is room for great improvement. Perhaps in the following manner: — 1. That this Government take over the hotels, 'paying a. manager, something after the 1 "Gothenburg system."2. That the drink sold should be of the best. 3. No bar parlour, either take one's drkik at the bar, or take it straight away. i. No barmaids. 5. To refuse to sell .spirits or beer on credit. It is- time that the licensing law be remodelled and improved. In my mind) these improvements would be better than interfering with- the freedom of the people.—l am, etc., A MOTHER. Thames, November 21st.
