(Per Prow Association.) PALMERSTON N.. Sept. 28, SUDDEN DEATH.
Mr A. McHardy, a well known Hawke's Bay runholder, died very suddenly last evening. The deceased, who was 73 years of age, danced the Highland Fling at the Catholic social, and after responding to a demand for a repetition, appeared somewhat distressed, and at once returned to his hotel, where he #as immediately seized with faintness and expired. Death is attributed to heart disease;
FIRE.
The Empire Hotel, which was partially destroy 3d by fire three weeks ago, was again discovered to be on fire this morning. The flames were extinguished after considerable dam* age had been done to the improve* ments. Incendiarism is suspected, there being strong evidences of kerosene where the fire orginated.
