Fire on the Moana.

Wellington, July 5
The Post Office is advised that afire broke out in the forehold of the Moana the'day before her arrival at Frisco on her last trip. Twenty-two bales of kapok were more or less demaged by fire and water, and 300 bales had to be thrown overboard. Only the prompt and vigorous measures of the officers and the crew prevented a serious calamity.
