Alliance, and the controversy in connection therewith, are " likely to lead to the formation of two New Zealand Alliances, run on separate and distinct lines. It has, therefore, been decided to placs the facts before members, and show now the Alliance has been captured by the Prohibitionists, with a view to organising them on the old moral suasion lines. Many members in different parts of the colony strongly object to the Alliance being made a political machine, with the avowed object of ousting the Seddon Government in the vain hope of getting batter legislation from the Tories. The capture of the Alliance, so my informant assures me, was effected by new members, I created specially for the purpo3e." j
