Football.

(Peb Press Association.)

Wellington, March 29.

The English Rugby Union has decided that the " try" claimed by Otago in the last match against Canterbury must be allowed, as the ball was " touched down" by one of their players in the Canterbury " in goal." The referee gave no decision before that occurred, and further, nothing had happened to necessitate his giving one. This decision reverses that of the New Zealand Appeal Committee. Otago therefore wins the match.
